About

Welcome to my page! I’m Cheyenne, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) based in Vancouver, BC.
Struggling to trust others or finding yourself stuck in the same painful relationship patterns can feel confusing and lonely. Many people I work with have learned to protect themselves by shutting down or holding in their emotions, even when they long for closeness. My role in counselling is to help you explore how past experiences may be shaping your current relationships, understand the patterns that have formed, and work toward creating more secure and fulfilling connections.
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), I use Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) to help you understand how past relational wounds may be shaping your emotions, relationships, and sense of safety today. My approach is trauma-informed, person-centred, and grounded in the belief that every emotion carries valuable information. Together, we’ll slow down, tune into your inner world, and support the parts of you that learned to protect, numb, or disconnect to cope.
My path to becoming a counsellor grew out of my own lived experiences with disordered eating, depression, and anxiety. My personal journey of healing has taught me the importance of a welcoming space where you can openly express your experiences without judgment.
Outside of therapy, I love spending time in the forest, gardening, weightlifting, running with music, and staying curious about the latest counselling research, especially in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. I am grateful to live and work on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
In our work together, all emotions are welcome. If you feel we might be a good fit, I’d love to connect.
My approach
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed and person-centred, recognizing the profound impact that past experiences can have on emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Central to my work is a person-centred approach, grounded in Carl Rogers’ belief that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful catalyst for healing. I aim to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can be your most authentic self, listened to with empathy and acceptance, and feel fully understood.
In addition to this foundation, I draw from cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) to help you identify and shift unhelpful thought and behaviour patterns. I also believe that emotions hold valuable messages we need to hear, and that every feeling serves a purpose. Therefore, I incorporate Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), guiding you to explore and process emotions in a meaningful way, helping you understand and integrate your feelings. Furthermore, I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you connect with and heal different parts of yourself, fostering greater self-understanding and inner harmony. This integrative framework offers flexible treatment, combining various therapeutic modalities tailored to your unique needs. I also place a strong emphasis on the quality of our connection, recognizing the importance of the therapeutic relationship in supporting your healing process.
